Physicians, Dieticians, Sanitary Auxiliaries
The assessment of the patient’s nutritional status is a major challenge for the healthcare practitioner. The professional impedance meter is a device perfectly suited for prevention, diagnostic support, or monitoring in the context of certain pathologies.
The BIA also brings apporte new health indicators.
FIELDS OF APPLICATION
PREVENTION
Carrying out actions, changes in habits or behaviors to prevent the appearance of illnesses and/or keeping and improving the wellbeing of the patient are popular approaches in public health policies.
The objective is the first educational indicator that allows to raise awareness in the patient about their possible imbalances. For the physician is a fast and simple detection tool.

ASSISTANCE FOR THE DIAGNOSIS
For a full-scale analysis, the Biody Manager software covers all the body data with 18 indicators plus associated sub-indicators. This data helps with the diagnosis of pathologies such as malnutrition, sarcopenia, or obesity and the association of combined risks.

FOLLOW-UP
It is essential to have simple tools at your disposal to check the efficacy of the implemented strategies.
This is especially certain and useful when a dietary rebalance is prescribed
The follow-up tools such as the curved-shaped histories or the tendency chart provided, fit the established goals.
They promote the adherence of the patient to their attention and help measuring their therapeutic adherence.

THE BIA BRINGS NEW HEALTH INDICATORS
The phase angle is a cellular health marker. The cell can be compared to that of a battery which is why the phase angle value indicates its capacity to function properly, therefore, it represents the measurement of cellular functionality.
The IR is a marker of tissue swelling among other things. It is the relationship between the measured impedance at 200 kHz and the measured impedance at 5 kHz.

TESTIMONIES

Nutritionist

DR JAMES MADRID
Sports Doctor

Bioelectrical impedance analysis (BIA) is used at Clinalliance in two areas: sports medicine and in the management of malnutrition, dehydration, and heart failure in cardiology. BIA can be used to detect certain pathologies, particularly those related to fluid compartment imbalances, or potentially for screening purposes, such as assessing bone mass.

What is interesting about this tool is that at each dietary consultation we will be able to reuse it in order to see the evolution of the curves whether it be in terms of water, fat mass, dry mass and depending on these results at each consultation, we will be able to give dietary advice.

And yes, this tiny device holds its own and is part of the medical team that supports me throughout the year. Indeed, I am fortunate to be under the constant care of a doctor, a physiotherapist, two biologists, and a dietician, and for over a year now, we have agreed to include bioelectrical impedance analysis among all my examinations (massages, blood tests, performance tests, etc.), which allows them to confirm and complement the various monitoring procedures.
