  • Intra-rater reliability and agreement of a portable bioelectrical impedance analysis device for body composition assessment

Validation study of the Biody Xpert ZM III compared to DXA (Dual-energy X-ray Absorptiometry), conducted in both sitting and supine positions. Results demonstrate excellent agreement, with a mean deviation of approximately 3.7 Ω on impedance measurements and less than 1% difference on fat mass assessment. No statistically significant differences were observed for fat mass, lean mass, or fat-free mass.
→ Confirms accuracy and reliability equivalent to the DXA reference standard.
  • A Pragmatic Two-Step Screening Algorithm for Sarcopenia and Frailty in Community-Dwelling Older Adults: A Cross-Sectional Population-Based Study

Population-based study proposing a two-step algorithm combining the SARC-F questionnaire, handgrip strength measurement, and targeted BIA (Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis). This approach demonstrates excellent diagnostic performance for identifying sarcopenia and frailty in community-dwelling older adults.
→ Enables simple, reproducible, and scalable screening for widespread implementation in clinical practice.
  • Reproducibility of Bioimpedance Spectroscopy Parameters to Evaluate Skeletal Muscle Properties

Study evaluating the reproducibility of Spectroscopic Bioimpedance (BIS) parameters for characterizing skeletal muscle properties. Results demonstrate good measurement stability and sensitivity to variations in muscle length and circumference, suggesting the capacity to detect structural and functional alterations.
→ A relevant tool for monitoring muscle disorders and supporting rehabilitation protocols.
  • Integrated Multivariate Predictive Model of Body Composition and Lipid Profile for Cardiovascular Risk Assessment

Study developing a multivariate predictive model combining body composition and lipid profile in young subjects. Bioimpedance-derived parameters significantly improve the accuracy of cardiovascular risk prediction models compared to conventional approaches.
→ Supports the valuable integration of body composition assessment into cardiometabolic prevention strategies.
  • Phase Angle and Impedance Ratio as Meta-Inflammation Biomarkers after a Colon Cleansing Protocol in a Group of Overweight Young Women

Exploratory study analyzing the association between phase angle, impedance ratio, and markers of meta-inflammation following an intestinal cleansing protocol in overweight women. Results suggest that phase angle may serve as a superior indicator of inflammatory status.
→ Strengthens the relevance of phase angle as a clinical biomarker.
  • OBESITY AND BODY COMPOSITION DETERMINED BY BIOIMPEDANCE-METRY IN MOROCCAN ADULT POPULATION

Cross-sectional study conducted in 89 Moroccan adults aged 29 to 66 years, aimed at assessing the prevalence of obesity and its impact on body composition. Measurements obtained via Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis (BIA) confirm the device's ability to provide reliable data under real-world conditions.
→ Demonstrates the relevance of BIA for population-based studies and field research applications.
  • Cumulative oxidative and inflammatory responses to repeated depth training in breath-hold divers: a multiparametric field study

Repeated apnea diving episodes may induce modest but cumulative oxidative and inflammatory responses, likely independent of decompression-related mechanisms. These observations suggest that biomonitoring tools could provide valuable insights to support recovery strategies and enhance diver safety.
→ Fluid fluctuations were assessed using the Biody XpertZM3
  • Study the Effect of Relative Energy Deficiency on Physiological and Physical Variables in Professional Women Athletes: A Randomized Controlled Trial

Single-center interventional study with female handball players, examining the effects of chronic energy deficiency, the Mediterranean diet, and antioxidants on athletic performance. The BiodyXpert ZM II was used to assess body composition, including appendicular skeletal muscle mass, fat-free hydration, and fluid balance. Results indicate that all three nutritional interventions led to improvements in body composition, with no single intervention demonstrating significantly superior effects over the others.
→ La composición corporal fue el parámetro que mostró la mejora más notable tras la intervención nutricional en jugadoras profesionales de balonmano.
